Dr Ahmed is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist specialising in the treatment of lung cancer (BSc, MBBS, MRCP, FRCR, MD (Res).
She qualified at Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School and has been at The Royal Marsden since 2003. She was awarded MD (Res) in 2010 and was subsequently appointed as Consultant Clinical Oncologist at The Royal Marsden Hospital. She has an honorary faculty appointment with the Institute of Cancer Research.
She has developed expertise in stereotactic radiotherapy treatments for lung cancer, lung metastases and oligometastatic disease.
Stereotactic radiotherapy forms a key part of her research programme. She is author on DOSIS, a spine SBRT trial. She is involved in a number of other international SBRT trials including: Lung TECH, oligometastatic trials SARON (grant co-applicant, local PI) and CORE (grant co-applicant, lung lead). She is also running a UK trial of SBRT with immunotherapy, STILE (CI) for lung cancer.
